John Schoof has been named the AU
Student-Athlete of the Week Presented by GEICO, Department of
Athletics officials announced.
The third-year sharpshooter spearheaded AU's offensive attack at
UMES this past Sunday, helping American to a 71-58 victory in
Princess Anne, Md. Schoof hit half of his attempts from the field
(4-of-8), with three from long distance and was one of three Eagles
to finish with a game-high 15 points. Th win snapped a three-game
skid for AU as American heads into Patriot League play this
Thursday, January 2, at defending conference champion, Bucknell, at
7 p.m.
Schoof has been locked in from the field as of late for the
Eagles. In his past six games, he is 29-of-61 (.475) from the
field, hitting 18-of-37 (.486) from beyond arc. The guard has
netted three-or-more triples in five of those six games and is
averaging 15.0 ppg and 3.3 rpg.
