American University volleyball junior Kelly
McCaddin has been named the AU Student-Athlete of the
Week Presented by GEICO, Department of Athletics officials
announced Monday.
McCaddin hit .472 in American’s two NCAA Tournament
matches, averaging 3.33 kps and 1.67 bps. The West Caldwell, N.J.
native hit .533 in the Eagles’ First Round match with 10
kills and only two errors on 15 attempts. She also added two digs
and a pair of blocks in the sweep of Georgia. McCaddin then hit
.429 in American’s Second Round sweep of No. 14 Duke,
tallying 10 kills with one error. She notched a team-high eight
blocks with three assists in the win.
The junior ranks 15th in the country in hitting percentage,
hitting .411 on the year. She is averaging 2.32 kps, 1.01 bps, 0.57
dps and 0.46 aps this season.
McCaddin and the Eagles head to Lincoln, Neb. this weekend for
the Sweet 16 to take on No. 1 Texas on Friday, December 13 at 6
p.m. EST.
