American University women’s soccer
student-athlete Kirsten Eriksen has been honored as the
AU Student-Athlete of the Week Presented by GEICO, Department of
Athletics officials announced Monday.
The Eagles kicked off the 2013-14 athletics season this past
weekend with a pair of home games at Reeves Field. Eriksen, a 2012
Second Team All-Patriot League selection, showed why she is one of
the top defenders in the conference, playing every minute of both
one-goal games against are rivals, George Washington and UMBC.
Anchoring the back line for a young AU squad, Eriksen’s
leadership and stabilizing presence is a strong key for first-year
head coach Anabel Jimenez
Hering’s team.
