American University outdoor track student-athlete Julia Sullivan has been honored as the
AU Student-Athlete of the Week Presented by GEICO, Department of
Athletics officials announced Monday.
Sullivan led the women’s team at the 2013 Patriot League
Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Bethlehem, Pa. over the
weekend. The junior was the lead leg of the 4x800 meter relay team
that posted an ECAC qualifying time and scored points for the
Eagles with its sixth place result. Their time of 9:16.20 was also
the fifth-fastest in program history. The Northampton, Mass. native
returned on Saturday to place seventh in the 1,500 meter run.
American’s runners who have posted qualifying times this
season will head to the ECAC & IC4A Outdoor Championships on
May 10-11 in Princeton, N.J. while the rest of the squad will
travel to Swarthmore, Pa. for the Last Chance Meet on Monday, May
13.
