American University lacrosse student-athlete Jordan Harrington was named the Patriot League
Offensive Player of the Week and AU Student-Athlete of the Week
Presented by GEICO, Department of Athletics officials announced
Monday.
Harrington tallied a career-high five goals, also adding two
assists, to help American remain undefeated in the Patriot League
with a 15-11 win at Lafayette on Saturday. The Fairport, N.Y.
native’s seven points were a career-high and led the Eagles
to its highest seed in the Patriot League tournament since 2008.
Four of her goals and an assist came during a 7-0 run by American,
which helped them turn a 6-1 deficit into an 8-6 advantage. This is
the first career Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week nod
for the sophomore.
Harrington and the Eagles close out the regular season with a
pair of games at Jacobs Field. American hosts Longwood on
Wednesday, April 17 at 4 p.m. before taking on Navy for hosting
rights of the 2013 Patriot League Tournament on Sunday, April 21 at
12 p.m.
