American University wrestling NCAA qualifiers Blake Herrin and David Terao have been recognized as the AU
Student-Athletes of the Week presented by GEICO, Department of
Athletics officials announced Monday.
Herrin placed second at heavyweight to lead five American
placewinners at the 2013 EIWA Championships while Terao finished
third at 125 lbs. to secure spots in Des Moines, Iowa for the NCAA
Championships.
Both grapplers posted records of 3-1 at the tournament. Herrin
posted his first fall of the season in his first bout of the
championships, pinning Franklin & Marshall’s Alexander
Henry in 4:46. Terao registered two falls over the weekend,
including a 45-second pin over Army’s Hunter Wood.
The pair heads to Des Moines for the 2013 NCAA Championships on
March 21-23.
