Colin Seigfreid was named the AU
Student-Athlete of the Week Presented by GEICO, Department of
Athletics officials announced Monday. He was also recognized as the
BRINE Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week, conference
officials announced.
Seigfreid had a hand in all three of American’s goals in
Saturday’s overtime win over Navy. After an early Navy goal,
he added the equalizer in the 18th minute when the goalkeeper tried
to intercept Dale McDonald’s cross.
The Pittsburgh, Pa. native also added an assist on each of Alassane Kane’s goals. The
junior sent in a corner kick in the 83rd minute to Kane, who headed
it in for the 2-2 tie, and also sent in the cross to the senior,
who was waiting in front of the net and tapped it in 90 seconds
into overtime for the game-winner. He also played a strong role in
American’s 1-0 non-conference win over Longwood, setting up a
number of opportunities for the Eagles.
Seigfreid leads the Eagles and Patriot League with 16 points on
the year, also posting a conference-best six assists on the year.
This is his third Offensive Player of the Week honor this
season.
American returns to action on Saturday, October 27 at 7 p.m.

Eagles return to Reeves Field on Tuesday, October 30 when they host
