American University cross country senior Mark Allen has been named the AU
Student-Athlete of the Week presented by GEICO, Department of
Athletics officials announced Monday.
Allen led the men’s team to its first team title of the
season at the Leopard Invitational on Saturday. The Miami, Fla.
native finished second, posting a time of 25:06.99 in the 8K race.
He paced a field of Eagles runners as they posted 27 points in the
event, beating out Penn who placed second in the team standings
with 55 points.
Allen and the Eagles will return to action in two weeks when
they head to Hamilton, N.Y. for the 2012 Patriot League
Championships.
