Lisa Schaaf from the American
University lacrosse team has been named the American University
Student-Athlete of the Week presented by GEICO, Department of
Athletics officials announced Monday. Schaaf registered 12 points
on four goals and eight assists in American's victories over
Liberty and Davidson this week.
Her four assists in each game tied a program record for most
single-game assists. The two wins on the week, which came by a
combined score of 46-8, gave AU nine victories to close the regular
season. This marks their first nine-win campaign since the 2007
season and guarantees the Eagles their first winning season since
2003.
American will begin play in the 2011 Patriot League Tournament
on Thursday, April 28 as the fourth seed at top-seeded Colgate.
First draw is set for 4:00 p.m.
