Leer from the American University women's basketball
team has been selected as the American University Student Athletes
of the Week presented by GEICO, Department of Athletics officials
announced Monday. Leer was named to the Patriot League
All-Tournament Team after leading the Eagles to the conference
championship game for the second straight season.
Leer led American to a 69-64 OT win at two-time defending
Patriot League champion Lehigh on Wednesday with her 18-point
effort. Twelve of her points came in the second half and the other
six in overtime on two crucial go-ahead three-pointers. For the
game, she was 6-of-12 shooting and 3-of-5 from beyond-the-arc. She
added seven rebounds, three assists and two blocked shots.
In Saturday's PL Championship Game at Navy, Leer had eight
points and 10 rebounds in a losing effort. She closes her career
with a program-record 126 appearances and goes down as the
fourth-leading scorer in school history, third on the rebounding
list and first in career blocked shots.
