Senior Charles Hinkle was named the GEICO
Student-Athlete of the Week and Patriot League Anaconda Player of
the Week for the second week this season after scoring a
career-high 32 points to lead American past St. Joseph’s,
66-60, for its seventh straight win.
Hinkle has scored in double-digits every game this season, and
has posted at least 20 points in five games. The senior currently
ranks sixth in the country with 23.4 ppg and first in total scoring
(211). He is shooting 40.3 percent from the field, 40.7 percent
from three-point range and 86.5 percent from the line this
season.
Last week, the Los Alamitos, Calif. native shot 92.6 percent
from the foul line last week, including going a perfect 7-of-7 from
the line against St. Joseph’s. Hinkle also posted a
career-high eight rebounds on Sunday.
Hinkle and the Eagles will return to Bender Arena when they face
Hampton on Wednesday, December 7 at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are still
