Senior outside hitter Rebecca Heath from the volleyball team
has been named the American University Student-Athlete of the Week
presented by GEICO. Heath played a key role in American’s 3-0
week, which consisted of victories over Loyola (Md.), Bucknell, and
Colgate.
For the week, the Naperville, Ill. native recorded 37 kills
while hitting a .304 clip. She also picked up 19 digs along with
three serving aces and two block assists. Heath narrowly missed a
double-double in the Loyola victory as she registered 15 kills and
nine digs.
Heath and the Eagles will be back in action on Tuesday,
September 27 when they host Morgan State in a non-conference
matchup. First serve is scheduled for 7 p.m., and it will be
brought to you live on Eagles Vision TV.
