Junior forward Jasmine Mohandesi of the
AmericanUniversity women’s soccer team has been selected as
the AU Student-Athlete of the Week presented by GEICO for her
performances over the weekend.
Mohandesi registered a goal and an assist as the Eagles went
unbeaten in its two matches against Mount St. Mary’s and
Delaware State. The Vienna, Va., native registered the assist on
Nicole Paviglionite’s strike on Friday versus The Mount as
the two squads played to a 1-1 double overtime draw. She then
recorded the game’s lone goal on Sunday at Delaware State to
give AU the victory.
Mohandesi leads American with seven points, which have come on
two goals and three assists. For her career, she has now registered
15 points on three goals and nine assists. Mohandesi’s nine
career helpers currently rank her in a tie for 10th in program
history.
Mohandesi and the Eagles will return to action on Wednesday,
September 21 when they visit Loyola (Md.). Match time is set for 5
p.m.
