Volleyball’s Morgan Hendrix has been named the
American University Student-Athlete of the Week presented by GEICO
after earning All-Tournament honors at the Hokie Classic this
weekend.
Hendrix notched a team-high 24 kills over the three matches and
also sported a team-best .285 hitting percentage, making her one of
the tournament's top performers. The sophomore turned in her best
performance of the weekend on Saturday versus Seton Hall, scoring
11 kills with four blocks while hitting .350.
In Wednesday’s win over Coppin State Hendrix notched nine
kills, three blocks and a .533 hitting percentage. She currently
leads the team with a .327 hitting percentage and ranks third with
2.74 kps.
American will return to action Wednesday, September 14 at George
Mason at 7:00 p.m.
