Volleyball's Juliana Crum has been named the
American University Student-Athlete of the Week presented by GEICO,
Department of Athletics officials announced Monday. Crum led the
team with two consecutive double-doubles last weekend against
George Washington and Georgetown University.
On Friday against George Washington, Crum scored 12 kills and 13
digs and finished the match with a .312 hitting percentage. She
followed that up with a 15 kill, 12 dig performance against
Georgetown on Saturday. This marked the first time in her career
she has recorded back-to-back double-doubles, while her 15 kills
set a new career-high.
For the weekend, Crum averaged 3.38 kps and 3.12 dps, with a
hitting percentage of .312. She also recorded three total blocks,
and two service aces.
American will return to the court on Wednesday, August 31
against Oregon at 7:00 p.m. in Bender Arena.
