2020-21 (RS Senior) - Did not compete at the EIWA Championships, the program's only meet due to a COVID-shortened season... Started up the AU Black Athlete Coalition (AUBAC) to empower, educate and prosper a culture of diversity, inclusion and excellence at American University.
2019-20 (RS Junior) - Named a winner of a Billie Jean King Youth Leadership Award as part of the virtual 2020 ESPY Awards on ESPN... Earned the honor for his community service work with The Grassroot Project in DC... Earned the first dual win of his career in a match vs. Drexel on Jan. 11, defeating Felix Belga by a 2-1 decision... Competed at his first EIWA Championships as the starter at 157 pounds...Went 0-2 including a narrow, 5-3 loss in the consolation bracket... Went 0-2 at the National Collegiate Open on March 1.. Is 15-44 overall at AU after three seasons, not including an 8-16 redshirt year in 2016-17... Earned an EIWA Academic Achievement Award.
2018-19 (RS Sophomore) - Went 3-10 overall... Best result was a second-place finish at the Bob Quade Open where he finished 2-1... Faced two ranked opponents in dual meets and went 0-3.
2017-18 (RS Freshman) – Went 3-13 for the Eagles overall… Went 2-2 at the Storm Open, including a 14-4 major decision over AU teammate Matt Conte… Also beat Ryan Orr of Baldwin-Wallace, 7-3… Other victory came in first round of Wilkes Open, in a 3-2 triumph over Jay Oakes of Sacred Heart… Wrestled in two duals for the Eagles, losing at ODU and at George Mason… Went 0-2 at the National Collegiate Open (2/25).
2016-17 (Redshirt) - Placed 7th at the Messiah Open, going 4-2... Lost his opening match before getting an 11-0 major decision over Daniel Smith of Elizabethtown and a 4:09 pin of Khai Do of Elizabethtown in the next two rounds... Won 7th-place match with 10-7 decision over William Korzeniewski of Messiah... Went 2-2 at the Storm Open... Finished with 1-2 marks at the Shorty Hitchcock Memorial and the National Collegiate Open... Also competed at the Southeast Open, Wolf Pack Open, Wilkes Open and Warriors Winter Open.
Northwestern HS - Male Student-Athlete of the year at nearby Northwestern High School in Hyattsville, Md... MPSSAA state qualifier... Maryland National Team Member... Three-sport athlete, where he was also a member of the National Honor Society... Went 85-30 at Northwestern.
Personal - Earned his bachelor's degree in psychology from AU in May, 2020... Will pursue his master's degree in psychology at AU with an expected graduation in May, 2021... Plans to earn his Ph.D. and help destigmatize mental health issues in the Black community... Mother is Deborah Murphy.
