2020-21 (RS Junior) - Did not compete at the EIWA Championships, the program's only meet due to a COVID-shortened season.
2019-20 (RS Sophomore) - Finished the season with a winning record of 19-13 overall with a 6-6 mark in dual matches... Made a run through the consolation bracket at the EIWA Championships, coming in unseeded but placing seventh overall after a 7-4 decision vs. Brandon Stokes of Bucknell in the seventh-place match... Went 6-3 in his last nine duals, with one loss coming against #7 Jordan Wood of Lehigh and another to #16 Seth Nevills of PSU... Took two early-season titles, going 3-0 at Battle at The Citadel and 2-0 for the win at AU’s Round Robin... Finished fifth at the Patriot Open with a record of 5-1... Had four pins overall and four wins by major decision.
2018-19 (RS Freshman) - Posted a 15-16 overall record and a 5-6 mark in dual meets... Was strong late in the season, entering EIWAs having won four of five including two WBF... Went 1-1 at EIWA with a round of 16 win over Evan Callahan of Harvard... Faced eight ranked opponents for the season (1-7), getting a win over then-No. 19 Zach Elam of Missouri at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational... All three opponents at CKLV were ranked... One of three Eagles with falls in dual-match win over ODU in season finale... Opened season by winning heavyweight bracket at the East Stroudsburg Open, going 5-0... Edged Isaac Reid of Lock Haven, 4-3, in championship... Fourth with 2-2 mark at the Wilkes Open.
2017-18 (Redshirt) – Had a strong debut season as a collegian, competing in open tournaments… Placed at three of the seven tournaments… Went 3-1 to finish 2nd at the Storm Open (12/3), opening with a 1:17 WBF over Joe Newara of Gannon… Lost to unattached wrestler Jared Campbell, 19-11, in the final… Also placed 2nd at the Messiah Open (2/3), going 4-1… Had two major decisions on his way to a 3-2 (TB-2) win in the semifinal over Daniel Herman of Columbia… Lost 4-1 to Austin Amos of Liberty in the final… Placed 4th at the Wilkes Open (12/22), going 3-2… Lost to AU teammate Brett Dempsey in the championship… Went 2-2 at the Clarion Open and 2-2 at the Shorty Hitchcock Classic… Lost his opener at the Lehman/F&M Open (1/56) before winning three straight decisions… Went 1-2 at the National Collegiate Open (2/25), winning his opening match, 9-3, over Brady Daniel of Arizona State.
Before AU – Attended Bethlehem Catholic HS… Two-time state place-winner in Pennsylvania… Finished 4th as a junior and 5th as a senior in PIAA Class AAA. Went 42-5 in both his junior and senior seasons… District and region champion as a senior… Finished his three-year high school career with 93-19 record… High school coach was Jeff Karam… Champion of both the Ironman and King of the Mountain events… Second team all-state honoree in football.
Personal – Mother is Kathy Cruz… Has a younger sibling… Is majoring in finance at AU… Honor roll student at Bethlehem Catholic.
