40 years ago on December 7, 1985, the AU men's soccer team defeated Hartwick 1-0 in the NCAA Tournament semifinal at Reeves Field to advance to the National championship game. Remembered as one of the greatest moments in AU athletics history, over 5,300 fans packed Reeves Field and created an unforgettable atmosphere. To help us re-live the moment and the legendary run to the championship, we brought together three individuals who were as close to the 1985 team as anyone — David Aldridge and Steven Goff, who were both writers for The Eagle at the time, and hall of fame head coach Pete Mehlert.
