WASHINGTON - Emmanuel Ulrich of American University wrestling has been selected as an at-large qualifier for the NCAA Championships on March 19-21, announced on Tuesday with the NCAA's release of the
full field for the tournament. Ulrich will join teammates and automatic qualifiers
Maximilian Leete and
Caleb Campos in Cleveland, marking the program's most participants in the tournament since 2020.
Ulrich had a breakout season as a redshirt sophomore, posting a 21-14 record and finishing fifth at the EIWA Championships. He went 9-7 in duals and had an impressive year in open tournaments, highlighted by a seventh place finish at the Southern Scuffle after going 4-2 in one of the nation's most competitive opens. After defeating Bucknell's #26 Lucas Lawler on Feb. 15, Ulrich jumped landed at #28 on the most recent RPI rankings released on Feb. 26.
Ulrich went 3-2 at the EIWA Championships, defeating Binghamton's Trent Sibble, Chris Powell from LIU, and Logan Shephard on his way to the podium.
Seeding and brackets for the Championships will be revealed on March 11 during the NCAA Division I Men's Wrestling Championships Selection Show on NCAA.com at 8 p.m. ET.
