NORTHBOROUGH, Mass. – Remaining as one of the top academic programs in the country, the American University lacrosse team has been named an IWLCA Academic Honor Squad for the third year in a row. The Eagles placed 13 student-athletes on IWLCA Academic Honor Roll as well, the most of any team in the Patriot League.
To qualify for the IWLCA Academic Honor Squad, a team must have posted a 3.2 GPA or higher for the academic year. Individually, players must be a junior, senior, or graduate student with a cumulative GPA of 3.50 or greater in order to be eligible for the IWLCA Academic Honor Roll.
American was one of 383 schools that the IWLCA named across Division I, II, III, and NAIA as Academic Honor Squads for the 2024-25 academic year. The association also honored 1,163 student-athletes from 124 different institutions on its Division I Academic Honor Roll, and AU led the Patriot League with 13 selections.
