WEST POINT, N.Y. - The final day of the dual meet season concluded with a pair of losses for American University wrestling against two tough EIWA opponents. The Eagles lost 39-3 at Columbia in their first match, then drove to Army where they started strong but fell 28-5 to the Black Knights. AU finished with a record of 8-14 overall, and 0-5 in the EIWA.

Notable

• The dual at Columbia saw the return of #28 Jack Maida to the competition mat for the first time since January 14.
• Maida came out well against the Lions' Nick Babin at 125 pounds, but leads of 4-1 and 7-6 failed to hold up as Babin turned a reversal into a pin midway through the third period.
• Maximilian Leete scored the only win of the dual for AU at Columbia, earning an 8-6 decision over Sulayman Bah at 133 pounds.
• Both Ethan Szerencsits (157) and Will Jarrell (HWT) lost by just two points at Columbia.
• After making the trip to West Point, the match at Army got off to a strong start for American as Maida held on for a 4-3 decision against #30 Ethan Berginc.
• Another one-point win was earned by Raymond Lopez at 133 pounds, and it was an upset victory as Lopez beat #28 Braden Basile 5-4.
• Those would ultimately prove to be the only wins for AU in West Point, as Army took the final eight. The Eagles dropped one team point for unsportsmanlike conduct following the bout at 157 pounds.
