Eight Individual Wins Highlight Tri-Meet for Swim & Dive at Loyola Maryland

BALTIMORE - Eight wins, including three by sophomore Isabel McGovern, highlighted the day for American University men's and women's swimming and diving as the Eagles took on Loyola Maryland and Colgate in a tri-meet. Both sides earned a win over Colgate and took a loss against host Loyola.

Notable
  • Sophomore Isabel McGovern got the Eagles' first win of the day in the 200 free with her time of 1:54.77. She later earned her second and third individual victories in the 200 fly and 100 fly. In the 200 fly she swam a PR of 2:07.56 that improves on her own 11th-place all-time standing at AU, and her 100 fly time of 57.67 is 16th all-time.
  • Senior Mimi Watts stayed undefeated in individual events this season with wins in the women's 50 free (23.25) and 100 free (51.45). Her 50 free time set a new pool record at Loyola.

  • Freshman Kate Williams took second place in the women's 1000 free in 10:42.76, a new personal best that ranks 13th all-time at American.
  • In the women's 100 back, junior Amaya Tomma took third place in 59.21, and on the men's side, freshman Henry Bysshe placed third in 54.11.
