WASHINGTON - After going undefeated for a third week in a row, senior Tim Fitzpatrick of American University wrestling has been named the GEICO Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Jan. 31-Feb. 6.

The Eagles competed at Bucknell on Feb. 6, and Fitzpatrick earned his fifth and sixth straight wins at 174 pounds. He beat Bucknell's Sam Barnes 3-2 in the team dual and Nolan Springer 7-3 in an extra countable match following the dual. Fitzpatrick now stands at 16-12 overall this season, and is 8-5 at 174 pounds. He'll be looking to make a second straight trip to the NCAA Tournament in March following the EIWA Championships early in the month.

The wrestling team will take next weekend off before returning to action for the final two dual meets of the season, both at home. First up is a 7:30 p.m. match against Maryland on Saturday, Feb. 19, followed by a 1 p.m. Senior Day dual against EIWA foe Penn on Sunday, Feb. 20.
