WASHINGTON - After earning three medals and setting seven school records at the Patriot League Swimming & Diving Championships, sophomore
Mimi Watts has been named the
GEICO Student-Athlete of the Week for a third time in 2021-22.
Watts became the first swimmer to medal for the Eagles since 2013, and scored 50 total points to tie for sixth among all women's swimmers at the PL Championships. She earned silver medals in both the 50 freestyle and the 100 butterfly, setting school records and NCAA "B" cuts in both events in either the prelims or the final. To wrap up the four days, Watts earned a bronze medal in the 200 butterfly. All four of the women's teams relays (200 medley, 400 medley, 200 freestyle, 400 freestyle) set school records, and Watts was a part of all of them.
The NCAA Championship selections will be announced on Wednesday, March 2. The NCAA Championships are set for March 16-19 in Atlanta.
