Izzy Kadzban netted the Eagles' goals in the win as American came home with the program's first win over the Greyhounds since 2017.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- American struck first in the fourth minute, off of Iluyomade's goal of the season, to take a 1-0 lead.
- Five minutes later, senior Alysa Vazquez had an opportunity to push the Eagles' lead to two but her shot was stopped by the Greyhouns' keeper.
- Loyola Maryland recorded its first shot in the 14th minute but sophomore Julia Kato was there to make the save and keep American in the lead.
- The Greyhounds took 10 more shots in the half but the Eagles' defense and Kato were there to make the stops and give hold American's 1-0 lead heading into halftime.
- Sophomore Jordan Mahony had a chance at the start of the second half to extend American's lead to two goals but her shot went over the top of the net.
- The Greyhounds responded with three shots, but all of their attempts were off target.
- Loyola Maryland found the equalizer in the 72nd minute.
- Three minutes later, in the 75th minute, a foul in the box and a yellow card by Loyola Maryland's goalkeeper set up a penalty kick for American. Kadzban took the kick, sending the ball into the lower left corner of the net to give American the 2-1 lead.
- The Greyhounds spent the last 15 minutes of the game taking every chance they could to even the score, firing off five shots, but the Eagles' defense held strong as they were able to hold on and come away with the 2-1 win.
INSIDE THE BOX SCORE
- Loyola Maryland held the 25-5 shot advantage in the game as well as the 7-0 corner kick advantage.
- The Eagles recorded no offsides in the win while the Greyhounds totaled six.
