Catch her if you can
Freshman Fisayo Iluyomade picked up her third goal of the season in a 2-1 loss to George Washington on Wednesday. Iluyomade leads the Eagles and the Patriot League in points (6) and goals (3).
Weekly Honors
Iluyomade and senior Charly Slavick each claimed Patriot League Weekly Awards as the Eagles finished the first week of the season 2-0. Slavick scored her first goal of the season in American's 2-0 victory over UNC Asheville on Friday.
Keeper Trifectas
American has played all three starting keepers this season with Ryleigh Brown and Amy Krotine each picking up road wins. Morgan Lang made the start against GW and made a season-high seven saves.
Senior Day in August
American will honor its eight seniors and one team manager on Aug 31 against VMI. Among the seniors to be honored will be Kyanna Alleyne, Samm Francucci, Amy Krotine, Morgan Lang, Dara Magdaleno, Victoria Mattson, Charly Slavick, Tiffany Zukosky and team manager Dylan Wolfe.
Scouting the Keydets
VMI opened the season with a 1-0 loss to Hampton before securing a 4-0 win over Delaware State on Thursday. Kiley Cropper leads the Keydets in points with three (1 goal, 1 assist). Three other Keydets have also scored this season. In goal, Noelle Heilpern has started both games for VMI and posts a 0.50 goals against average in two career starts.
