WASHINGTON– Emma Vinall and Kendall Goldblum had matching eight-point games, each posting five goals and three assists as American beat Presbyterian College, 21-3, in a non-conference women's lacrosse match Saturday at the Jacobs Complex.
The Eagles improved to 2-3 overall this season, while the Blue Hose are now 0-5.
GAME NOTES
• Izabella Jade also had a hat trick for the Eagles and finished with four points. Hali Sibilia had two goals and two assists for four points.
• Leah Brennan, Casey Harkins and Peyton Smith each finished with three points.
• Goldblum had four of her markers in the first half, with Vinall chipping in three as AU took a 13-0 lead at halftime. The Eagles out-shot the Blue Hose 25-0 in the opening period.
• Presbyterian scored the first goal of the second half to end the Eagles' scoring streak and trailed 15-2 when AU went on another five-goal scoring run.
• AU finished with a 37-6 edge in shots and a 20-5 advantage in draw controls.
• Presbyterian goalkeeper Kayla Koch finished with nine saves.
• The offensive outburst marked the first time AU has scored 20 goals in a game since a 20-9 win at home against VCU on Feb. 7, 2015.
