Come Saling With Me! Overtime Goal For Saling Leads Women's Soccer

WASHINGTON — Juliana Saling scored the game-winning overtime goal for the American University women's soccer team in a 1-0 win over UMBC on Wednesday. 
  • The game-winner was Saling's first collegiate goal to lead the Eagles over UMBC.
  • American finished with an 18-16 edge in shots as American put nine of those on target. 
  • Ryleigh Brown picked up the win in relief and made five saves. Morgan Lang played the first half and made one save. 
  • The post was on both sides as American got help in the first half, but in the 100th minute, Fisayo Iluyomade hit the post in front of the net to keep the game scoreless. 
  • UMBC keeper Jade Watkins made eight saves for the Retrievers.
