WASHINGTON — The American University women's soccer team fell to Richmond, 4-0, on Tuesday afternoon at Reeves Field. 

American (1-9) was outshot by the Spiders, 20-7 and trailed 1-0 at the half. 

Richmond scored on three straight shots in the second half to take a four-goal advantage. 

Lexi Prillaman and Meaghan Carrigan each had two goals for the Spiders. 

Morgan Lang made eight saves before she was replaced by Colleen Vivaldi with 17 minutes left. Vivaldi made two saves.

American will travel to Boston for a Saturday meeting with the BU Terriers.
