WASHINGTON — Holy Cross's Caroline Wallace scored the lone goal in the 76th minute to give the visitors a 1-0 win over the American University women's soccer team on Sunday.

American (1-15-2, 0-6-2 PL) outshot the Crusaders 8-6 with Colleen Vivaldi making four stops. 

Holy Cross improves to 3-11-2 on the year and 2-4-2 in league play. Brooke Holle made three saves. Emily George started the goal sequence for the Crusaders on a corner kick that bounced inside the box. Wallace corralled the ball and then sent the shot off Vivaldi's hands.

American will conclude the season on Friday at Lehigh.
