Women's Soccer Falls to Bucknell, 1-0, on Saturday

WASHINGTON – Bucknell's Talia Szatkowski scored with five seconds remaining in the first half to give the Bison a 1-0 win over the American University women's soccer team on Saturday afternoon at Reeves Field. 

The Bison outshot the Eagles, 9-3, in the first frame with Szatkowski's shot the lone ball to reach the net.

In the second half, AU's Kelly Donovan had a chance with one minute remaining, but her ball sailed high.

Bucknell keeper Jessica Ratner made three saves while Charlene Belanger made one.

The Bison finished the game with a 13-7 edge in shots and an 8-2 lead in corner kicks.

Prior to the game, AU honored its four graduating seniors in the Class of 2016 – Kassie Bryant, Courtney Bembenek, Kristen DeRiggi and Kelly Donovan.

American will host Navy on Wednesday afternoon at 3:30 p.m.
