Box Score PHILADELPHIA — The Penn Quakers scored four goals in the opening 26 minutes of the game and defeated the American University women's soccer team, 5-0, on Tuesday evening.
Sasha Stephens scored a pair of goals for the Quakers, who snapped their 559-minute scoreless streak. Penn outshot AU, 25-4, and held a 12-1 edge in corner kicks.
Courtney Bembenek played the first half and allowed four goals on nine shots on goal. Charlene Belanger replaced her for the second and gave up one goal on six attempts.
Carrie Crook started for the Quakers and was replaced in the 38th minute by Kiera Towell, who combined for the shutout.
American will host Bucknell on Saturday at 1 p.m.
