WASHINGTON – Posting a 3-0 record in three home duals for the Eagles this week, freshman wrestler Josh Terao has been selected as the GEICO AU Student-Athlete of the Week.
Terao was one of just three American wrestlers to earn a victory in the Eagles' dual versus Oklahoma on Thursday, scoring a 10-1 major decision over Sean Williams at 133 pounds.
He added two more dual wins on Sunday, defeating VMI's Hunter Starner with a 16-0 technical fall, and Harvard's Ryan Osleeb in a 10-1 major decision.
With his three victories this week, Terao improved to 12-7 on the season and a perfect 7-0 in dual competition.
The Eagles are back in action this Friday, Jan. 16, when they visit EIWA foe Navy in a 7 p.m. dual. American also hosts 24th-ranked Old Dominion on Sunday, Jan. 18, at 2 p.m.
