WASHINGTON – After earning a third-place finish at the Cleveland State Open on Saturday, junior wrestler David Terao has been selected as the GEICO AU Student-Athlete of the Week. 

Terao, one of six placewinners for the Eagles, compiled a 5-1 record in Saturday's competition to place third at 125 pounds. His wins came in dominating fashion, as he scored a technical fall and three major decisions, along with a victory by injury default. His lone loss of the day was a 10-6 decision to eventual champion Stevan Micic of Northwestern.

Ranked 15th in the nation at 125 pounds, Terao improved to 15-3 on the season with his performance.

After a few weeks off from competition, Terao and the rest of the Eagles return to action at the Aloha Open, being held Dec. 30 in Terao's hometown of Honolulu, Hawaii.
