WASHINGTON – Sophomore wrestler Brett Dempsey has been selected as the GEICO AU Student-Athlete of the Week, following his performance in the Eagles' 45-6 dual victory over Campbell on Saturday.

Dempsey picked up a dominant 29-10 technical fall over Campbell's Ben Cruz at 197 pounds. He scored 12 takedowns and a three-point near fall, while also accumulating over four minutes of riding time. With the win, Dempsey improved to 5-0 on the season.

American returns to action this Sunday, Nov. 23, when they head to Raleigh, N.C., for the NC State Duals.
