American University redshirt sophomore wrestler David Terao was named the Flo
Wrestling Brute Wrestler of the Week. He was also recognized as the
AU Student-Athlete of the Week Presented by GEICO, Department of
Athletics officials announced Monday.
Terao won his first individual title of the season at the
Keystone Classic against one of the toughest fields in the
tournament. The Honolulu, Hawaii native downed No. 8 Anthony
Zanetta in the semifinals with an 11-3 major decision to pick up
his first upset over a ranked opponent this year. He then recorded
a takedown of No. 16 Rob Deutsch of Rider in sudden victory
overtime for a 3-1 decision to take home the 125 lbs.

Terao is 6-3 on the year with one technical fall and one major
decision.
The Eagles return to action on December 6 and 7 when it heads to
Las Vegas, Nev. for the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invitational.
