Box Score The American University women's soccer team continued its
road swing on Friday night, where the Eagles fell 3-0 at Boston
University.
After a scoreless first 17 minutes, American (0-3) was doomed as
Boston University (1-2) scored two goals in a 31-second stretch in
the 18th minute. Lisa Kevorkian converted an unassisted goal to get
on the board, and it was Tiya Gallegos who knocked home the second
to give BU a 2-0 lead.
Kevorkian added her second goal of the game and third of the
season in the 62nd minute to take a 3-0 advantage, and ultimately
put the game out of reach for the Eagles.
American registered two shots in the game, which came off the
feet of Kendra Jones and Mackenzie Kerrigan.
Arianna Efstathiou played all
90 minutes in goal for the Eagles, recording six saves.
BU was a difficult opponent and another strong non-conference
team,” said Head Coach David Bucciero. “This was the
best game we possessed and passed the ball. Despite the fact we
gave up a couple of goals in the first half, we fought hard for 90
minutes and did not give up, and that's a positive
that's going to help us down the line.”
The Eagles will be back in action on Sunday as they travel to
Providence. Game time is set for 1 p.m.
