Women's Soccer Drops 2-0 Decision at Lehigh

The American University women's soccer team was defeated 2-0 at Lehigh on Sunday afternoon in Bethlehem, Pa. With the loss, the Eagles fall to 4-2 in the Patriot League with one conference match to play.

Liz Carlos scored both goals in the match for Lehigh (8-4-5, 2-2-2 PL), one in each half. Her first goal came in the ninth minute of the match, and she followed it with a 54th minute goal that put the match out of reach for American (9-9, 4-2 PL).

The Eagles struggled to get in the rhythm on the offensive end, getting outshot 22-7 in the match. Senior Kelsey Brasher and freshman Michelle Montilio led American with two shots apiece. AU goalkeeper Arianna Efstathiou recorded four saves.

The Eagles will close out the regular season on Saturday, October 31 with a 1 p.m. home match versus Navy. Prior to the match, American's seven women's soccer student-athletes will be honored in a prematch Senior Day ceremony.
