WASHINGTON - American University sophomore Simone Konig (Gartringen, Germany/School of Economics in Boblingen) collected a missed shot by Kristie Fontana (Dix Hills, N.Y./Half Hollow Hills East) and drove it past Loyola's goalkeeper to tie things up at one goal apiece. American went on to defeat Loyola by the final score of 3-1. The Eagles are now 2-3 on the season. Konig's goal sparked the AU offense as they went on to score two more goals in the next seven minutes. Anabel Jimenez (Kensington, Md./Bullis) scored the Eagles second goal of the game (59:11) after Marcela Ricupero (Sao Paulo, Brazill/Academia Cotopaxi) headed a perfect pass to her. Jimenez gathered the ball in and drilled it low, to the left of the Greyhound goalkeep. Ricupero scored the last goal of the game on a breakaway. It began when freshman Jana Lee (New Providence, N.J./Summit) took control of the the ball at midfield and after seeing Ricupero flash by, deftly passed her the ball.
