James Madison Storms Past American, 5-2, In Women's Soccer

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Katie Wildeman scored two goals and Christy Metzker had a goal and two assists as the James Madison Dukes rallied from one-goal deficits twice to scored four second half goals and beat American, 5-2, in front of 166 fans at Reeves Field Saturday afternoon.

American (1-4-1, 0-2 Colonial Athletic Association) started the scoring when Sarah Rosen (Jr. Atlanta, GA/ Woodward Academy) gathered a loose ball from a scramble in front of the net and sent it in from six yards out. Metzker answered less than 10 minutes later with a low left-footed shot to make it 1-1 at the half.

The second half began like the first with American scoring the first goal of the half. Four minutes into the half Katie Moore (Jr. Silver Spring, MD/ Good Counsel) took a pass from Rosen to score her second goal of the season with a shot that beat Dukes' goalkeeper Suzanne Wilson, who finished with five saves.

After James Madison (3-3, 1-0 CAA) tied the game 10 minutes later at 2-2, the Dukes erupted for three goal in a span of 11 minutes to put the game away. At 67:24 Wildeman scored her first goal, and what would turn about to be the game-winning goal, on a header from a long lining through pass making it 3-2. After an own goal gave the Dukes a 4-2 lead at 77:35, Wildeman scored again on a one-on-one with American goalie Jackie Sierodzinski, who finished with seven saves.
