WASHINGTON - The American University women's volleyball team swept the Patriot League awards this week as Cutrina Biddulph (Reseda, Calif./Granada Hills) and Christina Nash (Princeton, Fla./Coral Reef) have been selected as Baden P L Offensive Player of the Week and Baden PL Rookie of the Week, respectively, league officials announced Monday.
For Nash, the Rookie of the Week award is the second in as many weeks as she averaged 10.67 assists for the week in wins over UMBC, Colgate and Bucknell. The Princeton, Fla. native is fifth in the PL in assists per game at 7.90 overall and 9.24 in league play. At the net, Nash has emerged as a blocking force, improving her average in conference play to third overall with a 1.06 per game average.
Biddulph, who also earned her second Player of the Week award of the year, continues to lead the league in hitting percentage, blocks and points, as well as being third overall in kills. She ended her monster week averaging an even 5.00 for kills per game while adding eight total blocks.
The Eagles return to action Tuesday night in Bender Arena against Howard University at 7 p.m. before going on the road this weekend against PL opponents Lafayette and Lehigh on Friday and Saturday, respectively.
