PHILADELPHIA - The American University women's volleyball team kept on their rally caps as they came back from down four points against the Temple University Owls in the pivotal third game to take control of the match and go on to win 3-1. The Eagles got their 25th win of the season, the 10th 25-win season in school history as Liz Maloney (Toronto, Ontario/Richview C.I.) led the way with 16 kills and a .293 hitting percentage.
The Eagles won game one 30-28 and lost the second 27-30. In the third game they were down 23-19 when Rubena Sukaj (Tirana, Albania/Asim Vokshi) served the Eagles into a 24-23 lead that they lengthened to win 30-25. AU hit their best in game four, a match-high .263, for the 30-27 victory.
Sukaj had four service aces to lead the team. Maloney had one service ace as well, which put her at a tie for second-place in the school's single season record with a total of 85 on the season.
