EASTON, Pa. - The American University women's volleyball team continued its impressive play as of late, winning their fifth straight match in consecutive games in a 3-0 win over Lafayette Friday night. Cutrina Biddulph (Reseda, Calif./Granada Hills), Elizabeth Maloney (Toronto, Ontario/Richview C.I.) and Rubena Sukaj (Tirana, Albania/Asim Vokshi) all spanked more than 10 kills in the victory.
The Eagles came out swinging in the first game, combining for a .484 hitting percentage in a 30-20 win. The next two games were closer, but AU prevailed 30-21 and 30-24 for the match win.
Biddulph had three solo blocks and two block assists to go with her 13 kills. Maloney put down four service aces along with 11 kills.
As a team defensively, the Eagles totaled 10.5 blocks and held the Leopards to a .124 hitting average.
AU returns to action tomorrow afternoon at 4 p.m. against Lehigh.
