CENTER VALLEY, Pa.Aleksandra Kazala and Helena Elbaek led the 12 student-athletes representing American University on the Patriot League Volleyball Academic Honor Roll announced Thursday by the league office.

Kazala and Elbaek were voted onto the Academic All-Patriot League team at the end of the 2018 season.

Kazala was the PL Player of the Year last fall, while Elbaek and fellow Eagle sophomore Olivia Wassner were among 11 student-athletes across the league who earned a 4.0 grade-point average during the fall semester.

Loyola Maryland had 15 student-athletes make the list, with American tying with Lehigh and Lafayette for second-most. In all, 96 volleyball student-athletes were honored across the nine teams.

To be eligible for the Academic Honor Roll, a student-athlete needed a 3.20 GPA in the fall semester and to participate in one of the league's seven fall championship sports.
