WASHINGTON – Aleksandra Kazala has become only the second Eagle in school history to be selected to the All-East Region first team for three straight seasons by the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

Kazala, a senior outside from Debica, Poland, joined Rubena Sukaj (2006, 2007, 2008) as AU student-athletes to be a first-team pick three times. Three other AU players earned the honor twice.

Kazala was the Patriot League Player of the Year in 2018 for the third straight season after leading the team in kills. During the year, she became only the third AU player in history to combine for 1,000 kills and 1,000 digs in her career.

Her honor marks the sixth straight season the Eagles have had a member of the All-Region first team.

American tied for the regular-season championship in the Patriot League and finished the year with a 20-13 record.
