WASHINGTON – Aleksandra Kazala had nine of her game-high 18 kills in the second set as top-seeded American beat Lehigh, 25-18, 25-18, 29-27 on Saturday in a semifinal match of the Patriot League Volleyball Tournament.
The Eagles will face second-seeded Navy in the championship match on Sunday at 3 p.m. in Bender Arena. Navy beat Army West Point, 25-15, 25-15, 25-22 in Saturday's second semifinal to improve to 23-7 overall.
The Eagles won their 17th straight match and are now 25-7 overall. The fourth-seeded Mountain Hawks fell to 18-13 overall.
Freshman Helena Elbaek had 10 kills and only one error in 18 attacks for the Eagles, who hit .385 in the match. Elbaek had seven kills in the third set.
Ana Spangenberg led Lehigh with 18 kills and Sabrina Lancaster added 15. The Mountain Hawks finished with a .209 hitting percentage. Emily Develle had 10 digs for Lehigh.
Tickets for the Patriot League Tournament are available online or at the Bender Arena Box Office. General admission seats for each day are $8 for adults and $5 for children. Students of all four participating schools will be admitted free with a valid student ID.
The tournament will also be live streamed on WatchStadium.com. The championship match will stream live on the PLN, in addition to being streamed on Twitter by following @WatchStadium.
