LEWISBURG, Pa. – Aleksandra Kazala had 23 kills and 17 digs, leading three American University players with double figures in kills as the Eagles won at Bucknell, 28-30, 25-18, 25-15, 25-23, in a Patriot League volleyball match Friday night.
The win was American's seventh straight and improved the Eagles' record to 15-7 overall and 6-1 in the league. The Eagles have won nine of their last 10 matches.
Bucknell fell to 9-10 overall and 3-4 in the league.
Kazala hit .412 in the match, earning her 23 kills with only two errors in 51 attempts. It was her eighth match of the season with at least 20 kills and her 13th double-double of the year. She also finished with three blocks.
Kennedy Etheridge picked up her fifth double-double of the season with 30 assists and 10 digs, while Olivia Wassner had 25 assists, five kills and three blocks. Hoakalei Dawson had six kills, five assists, three aces and 16 digs in her second straight strong all-around match.
Sophie Bullard had 14 kills for the Bison, who had five players with at least eight kills in the match.
American travels to Colgate for a 4 p.m. match on Saturday. The Eagles' next home match is Friday, Oct. 20 against Navy.
