Crum Honored as National Player of the Week

In addition to being named the Patriot League Player of the Week, sophomore outside hitter Juliana Crum added another honor on Tuesday as she has been selected as the National Player of the Week.

Crum led the Eagles to a 3-0 week as they recorded victories over Howard, Colgate, and Bucknell. In the three matches, she hit .521 with 41 kills and only four errors. The Hacienda Heights, Calif., native registered a double-double in the victory at Colgate with 17 kills and 11 digs, her 12th double-double of the campaign. The Eagles have now won 11 of their last 12 matches.

Crum is the first AU student-athlete to ever earn the award and second in the history of the Patriot League.

Crum has also been picked as the American University Student-Athlete of the Week presented by GEICO for her effort last week.

American will look to improve to 9-1 in Patriot League play when it hosts Navy on Friday, October 28 at 7 p.m. in Bender Arena. Like always, the match will be carried live on Eagles Vision TV.
