Yari Bradfield

CENTER VALLEY, Pa. — American University women's soccer senior Yari Bradfield was named the Patriot League Offensive Player of the Year on Monday.

Bradfield, a forward from Hialeah, Fla., led the league in goals (13), points (28) and shots (60). She is American's first PL Offensive Player of the Year. Bradfield is the 11th Eagle selected to the All-PL First Team and the first since Hannah Tatro in 2012.

"I am so extremely proud of Yari's amazing individual accomplishment in being selected as the PL Offensive Player of the Year," said head coach Anabel Hering. "It has been a long and hard journey for her and this award was earned by all of the work she put in on the field and in the weight room. Her aspirations to be the best was her foundation but it was her willingness to go the extra mile to reach this goal. Yari has now set a very high bar to pave the way for our current and future attacking eagles."

Against Lafayette on Oct. 21, Bradfield jumped to sixth all-time in AU history in single-season goals. She had four matches with multiple goals.

Senior Audrey Denkler was voted to the All-Patriot League Second Team and finished third in assists with seven and sixth in league points with 13. Denkler finished her career with six goals and 10 assists for 22 points in 63 games.

American will graduate six players who combined for 59 of 71 points on the season.
