WASHINGTON — Senior Gabriela Maldonado scored her fourth goal of the season to keep the American University women's soccer team perfect at Reeves Field with a 1-0 win over Richmond on Thursday.

Postgame Notes

  • With four goals in 14 career games with American, Maldonado has now tied her career goal mark she set at LSU. Maldonado found the back of the net four times with the Tigers in 36 appearances.
  • Maldonado is one point shy of tying her career best in points that were set with four goals and three assists as a freshman in 2015 as a member of LSU.
  • Senior Yari Bradfield was credited with the assist on Maldonado's goal and now has a team-best 11 points.
  • American took a 1-0 lead in the 17th minute after Bradfield gave up a 2-on-0 breakaway opportunity to Maldonado for a one-timer goal.
  • Junior Amy Krotine made her first start since Sept. 16, 2017, and recorded a three-save shutout.
  • Krotine posted her second career shutout. Her first came against Longwood on Sept. 8, 2016, a 1-0 win at Reeves Field.
  • Richmond keeper Emily Wigg made five saves.
